What religious or social groups ban zippers and why?
The Amish ban zippers because they are too modern for them; too much into the modern day. That's why some Amish groups ban suspenders and some only have one suspender. It depends on how modern or industrialized they think it is. I'm not sure whether or not the Hutterites ban zippers; they might.
