Weird question: I have a couple of favorite sweaters, but the zippers on them give off a coppery, rusty smell that infuses the fabric regardless of how I have the garments cleaned. Does that happen to anyone else? Can I treat the zippers to eliminate the smell? Is there a way to clean the whole garment to avoid this problem. Help!

Reply:Why not replace the metal zippers with Delrin? Any alterationist can do it for you.
