Why do jeans zippers have ykk imprinted on them?

YKK stands for Yoshida Kogyo Kabushikikaisha (Translated into english as %26quot;Yoshida Company Ltd%26quot;). It was named after Mr. Tadao Yoshida, who founded YKK in japan as a manufacturing co in 1934. The brand name is also the company name today : YKK Corporation.


The Company manufactures Fastening Products (zippers, buttons, plastic buckles etc), Architectural products (storefront entrances, windows, doors etc) and machinery and engineering.
